1. Information Gathering
At this stage of the process, we will need to gather all of the information necessary to begin designing your home. Since we want to make sure that we’re integrating every element of style and functionality into your home design, information such as photos of your building site, sketches, and “wish-lists” are very helpful in providing us insight into how you envision the home of your dreams. To begin the design process, we respectfully request an initial investment of 25% of the total design cost.
In order to serve you best, we request that you send the following information before we begin deigning your new home:
1. Site plan with legal information for your lot, lot sizes, and grading.
2. Architectural guidelines for the area (if any).
3. Completed Design Request Form.
4. All extra information (photos, sketches, etc.)
After receiving the information listed above, we will begin the preliminary design.
2. Preliminary Design
The final product of this stage will be plans with room sizes, and all four elevations. Once you've reviewed and approved the preliminary design drawings, we will proceed with the Final Construction Drawings. Upon completion of the preliminary drawings, another payment of 25% of the total design cost will be due. This will include the specified number of change orders (as determined in the package you've selected) at no additional cost while adding the perfecting touches of your design. Any additional change orders will be billed at an hourly rate.
It is important to remember to make all of your changes during the Preliminary Design stage of the design process. Due to the detailing added to the design, it is much more difficult to make changes during the Final Construction Drawings stage. As such, if you decide to make design changes during the Final Construction Drawings Stage, they will be subject to an additional charge.
3. Final Construction Drawings
This is the final stage when your construction drawings will be prepared and sent to print. At this point, the planning process has been completed, and the final details, specifications, and dimensions are added. The drawings will then be sent to print, and you will receive each set of Final Construction Drawings according to the package you've selected. At the time of receiving the final construction drawings, the balance, or remaining 50% of the total design cost, for the home design is payable.
